Overview

The South Lake Art League invites artists of all experience levels to submit original artwork for the Fall Art Show, a juried exhibition celebrating the visual arts in South Lake County.

We welcome traditional two-dimensional artwork, dimensional and mixed-media pieces, sculpture, pottery, and other original works suitable for gallery display. Wall-mounted artwork must be ready to hang and able to be safely and securely displayed on a gallery wall. Freestanding pieces must be stable, self-supporting, and suitable for display in the gallery.

Selected works will be exhibited in the South Lake Art League Gallery for a limited time, giving artists the opportunity to showcase their work and compete for cash awards.

Entry Deadline

Entries must be submitted between August 9, 2026, and September 18, 2026, by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

• First Place: $500
• Second Place: $200
• Third Place: $150

Eligibility

• The exhibition is open to artists 18 years of age and older.
• All submitted artwork must be the original work of the submitting artist.
• The artist must own or hold all necessary rights to the artwork and any source images used in its creation.
• AI-generated artwork or imagery is not eligible.
• Giclée prints, reproductions, and other printed copies of original artwork are not eligible.
• Artwork based on, copied from, or substantially derived from copyrighted images or artwork for which the artist does not hold the appropriate rights is not eligible.
• Artwork previously exhibited in a South Lake Art League Fall Art Show is not eligible.

Submission Requirements

• Complete one application per artist.
• Artists may submit up to FOUR (4) works of original art.
• Each work of art must be submitted with the required artwork information and a digital image.
• Submission does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibition.
• Entry fees are non-refundable.

Selection Process

• Submitted works of art will be reviewed by the exhibition committee.
• Selection is based on artistic merit, the goals of the exhibition, and available exhibition space.
• Accepted works of art will be eligible for awards selected by the exhibition juror.
• All selection and award decisions are final.

Accepted Artwork

If your artwork is accepted:

• The exhibited work of art must be the same artwork shown in the submitted image. Framing and matting do not need to match the submitted image. No substitutions of artwork will be permitted.
• Artwork must be professionally presented, clean, undamaged, and ready to hang or display upon delivery.
• Frames, mats, glass, and acrylic must be clean, properly fitted, in good condition, and appropriate for the artwork. They must be free of visible smudges, scratches, stains, dents, discoloration, or damage. Neutral, non-distracting colors and finishes are recommended.
• Frames must be structurally sound and have secure, appropriate hanging hardware installed. Artwork with ill-fitting mats or frames, damaged presentation materials, or requiring cleaning, repair, reframing, or additional hardware may be refused.
• Secure wire hanging hardware is required for wall-mounted artwork. Sawtooth hangers are not accepted.
• Freestanding dimensional artwork, including sculpture, pottery, and other three-dimensional works, must be stable, self-supporting, and able to be safely displayed without additional supports, mounting, or installation by gallery staff.
• Framed entries are limited to a maximum size up to 48″ (including frame).
• Artwork must be delivered and picked up during the published dates and times.
• The South Lake Art League reserves the right to decline any accepted work that differs substantially from the submitted image or does not meet the exhibition’s presentation requirements.
• To help ensure a fair and impartial judging process, artists are asked not to publicly post or share submitted artwork on social media, websites, or other public platforms until judging is complete. Artwork publicly shared during the judging period may be subject to disqualification.

Liability

While every reasonable effort will be made to protect exhibited artwork, the South Lake Art League is not responsible for loss or damage occurring during transit to or from the exhibition. Artists are encouraged to insure their work.

Image Use

By submitting an entry, the artist grants the South Lake Art League permission to use submitted images for exhibition publicity, marketing, social media, the League website, and other exhibition-related promotional materials. Copyright remains with the artist.

Entry Fee

A non-refundable entry fee is required. Entries are not considered complete until both the application and payment have been received. Entry fees are:

Agreement

Submission of an application constitutes acceptance of these guidelines and all exhibition requirements.
