Meet Artist, Phyllis Walker

AUGUST 2026 FEATURED ARTIST

For more than 30 years, Phyllis Walker has found joy in painting. Although she has worked in oils and acrylics throughout her artistic journey, watercolor has always been her favorite medium, inspiring a style that is expressive, vibrant, and full of life. Its fluidity and transparency allow her to capture delicate details while bringing warmth and personality to every subject.

Today, she is best known for her custom pet portraits. Drawn especially to painting dogs and cats, she believes every animal has a personality all its own. By focusing on the eyes, she strives to reveal the curiosity, loyalty, playfulness, and spirit that make each companion unique. Her goal is to create more than an accurate likeness—each portrait is intended to capture the heart and character of a beloved pet.

Her artistic style has evolved through years of painting, workshops, and study with respected instructors. An extensive collection of art books continues to inspire new ideas and techniques, reflecting a lifelong commitment to learning and growing as an artist. Even after more than 30 years at the easel, she still approaches every painting with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a desire to keep improving.

Each commission is created with patience, care, and close attention to detail. From the first brushstroke to the finishing touches, she works to create a portrait that reflects not only a pet’s appearance but also the personality and spirit that make it unforgettable. Whether celebrating a new family member or honoring the memory of a cherished companion, her paintings are created to become lasting keepsakes for the families who love them.
