The South Lake Art League is powered by volunteers. From welcoming visitors at the gallery to helping with exhibitions, events, and community programs, our volunteers play an essential role in supporting the arts throughout South Lake County.

Volunteer opportunities are available to members in good standing and are open to artists and art enthusiasts alike. You don’t need to be a practicing artist to make a meaningful contribution. Many of our volunteers simply have a passion for the arts and a desire to support the creative community. Volunteering is a rewarding way to meet new people, become involved in the organization, and help sustain the programs and activities that make SLAL possible.

For artist members, participation in the League’s volunteer program may also provide opportunities to submit artwork for consideration in the gallery’s rotating member exhibitions.

Volunteer Shifts

• Montrose Gallery Volunteer/Docent
  Serve as an ambassador for the South Lake Art League by welcoming visitors, answering questions, promoting classes and programs, assisting with memberships, and processing artwork sales. This position requires training and is ideal for members who enjoy interacting with the public. Minimum 2-hour commitment per shift.
• Open Art Fridays
  Assist with setup, hospitality, artist support, and visitor engagement during one of SLAL’s most popular community programs. Minimum 2-hour commitment per shift.
• Special Events & Wine Strolls
  Help support exhibitions, receptions, community events, and Downtown Clermont activities throughout the year. Minimum 2.5-hour commitment per event.
• Gallery Installation & Displays
  Assist with artwork intake, exhibition preparation, gallery installations, labeling, and display changes.
• Clermont City Center Installation & Displays
  Support the installation and rotation of SLAL’s curated displays at Clermont City Center.
• Committees & Leadership Opportunities
  Members may volunteer their time and expertise on committees focused on exhibitions, education, membership, fundraising, marketing, community outreach, and other areas that support the organization’s mission.
