JULY 2026 FEATURED ARTIST
For Amy Ashley, wildlife photography is about far more than capturing beautiful images—it’s about preserving the fleeting moments that connect us to the natural world. A lifelong artist and educator, Amy found new inspiration after moving to Florida in 2018, where the state’s remarkable diversity of wildlife sparked a passion for photographing everything from majestic birds of prey to curious alligators, butterflies, and native wildflowers. What began as sharing images with family and friends soon grew into Ashley Wildlife Productions, where she creates fine art photography celebrating Florida’s wild places.
Amy’s work is distinguished by its ability to reveal the personality and character of her subjects. Whether it’s an eagle soaring overhead, a baby duck confidently navigating lily pads, or the unmistakable grin of a sunbathing alligator, she looks for those brief, authentic moments that evoke wonder, curiosity, and joy. Through her lens, viewers are invited to slow down, look closer, and appreciate the extraordinary beauty that often exists just beyond our everyday routines.
Her dedication to the craft has earned growing recognition. Amy’s photography has received multiple awards, including First Place, Second Place, and the People’s Choice Award at the South Lake Art League Spring Photography Contest. Her photograph of a juvenile alligator was published in The Wildlife Society magazine and is permanently displayed at the Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge Welcome Center.
As both a wildlife photographer and middle school art teacher, Amy believes creativity and observation go hand in hand. Her hope is that every photograph inspires others to develop a deeper appreciation for wildlife and the fragile ecosystems that surround us. Each image reflects not only a beautiful encounter but also a reminder that nature’s most meaningful stories often unfold in a single, unforgettable moment.
