New Storefront Location.
SoLake Art @ Cagan, 16640 Cagan Crossings Blvd, Clermont, FL
.Cagan Crossings will be having an Earth Day celebration on Wednesday, April 14th
from 4 – 7 pm to coincide with their 1st anniversary of the Farmers Market at that location.
If you haven’t visited Cagan yet, here’s your chance. Some members of the League
will be participating by doing demos at the Cagan gallery.
.
In February,
SoLake Art @ Cagan was host to a 4 day oil portrait seminar with Valerie Stewart. There were 18 students,
with all of their easels and oil painting paraphernalia, painting 2 portraits each, and we had plenty of room to spare.
Students loved the choices of restaurants for lunch each day.
.
Cagan gallery is available for rental for solo shows. The Solo Exhibit Fee for
Cagan Crossings Gallery is $50 per week plus $7.50 per day for any days over seven (7) or $175 for an entire
month, plus donation of 15% of all proceeds from sales. Right now, we have lots of open time, so
if you want to have a solo exhibit at Cagan, give me a call 352 241-6407.
. I have received donations of several tables, some plastic storage units with drawers, a short stepladder
and a large TV for the Cagan location. We still need either bookcases or shelving units and folding chairs.
. Remember, as a member of the South Lake Art League, you can use either location to exhibit and sell
your art. Please treat the galleries as your own art studio. Help us make it work to
your advantage. If any member wishes to teach or to book the new gallery for a solo exhibit, please
contact me. Does anyone teach children’s classes?
We get lots of requests for kids classes.
. Here
are the directions to SoLake Art at Cagan: Go south on SR 27 toward 192. After you see a sign saying
“Disney exit 192 - 1 mile” keep to the right. You’ll see a sign saying “Cagan Crossings
Boulevard, next signal” At the traffic signal, take a right into Cagan Crossings, go 1/2 way around
the roundabout and take your second right, which is still Cagan Crossings Blvd. On your left will be Cohen's Deli and
our storefront is to the right of it. The Sprint store and Grandma's Bakery are on the right of us. You can park
on the street or go around back, past the stores, to the left. The rear door says 304 on it.
.
Montrose Street Gallery, 776 W. Montrose Street, Clermont
.There is also space available right now for the months of April through August
for Solo Exhibits at the Montrose Street Gallery. Because it is a smaller gallery, the Solo Exhibit Fee
for Montrose Gallery is $25 per week plus $4.00 per day for any days over seven (7) or $85 for an entire month, plus donation
of 15% of all proceeds from sales.
.
Remember that the Montrose
Gallery is open every Sunday from 10 – 2 to coincide with the Farmers Market. This is our busiest
day, as the market attracts lots of people, many of whom come into the gallery to view the exhibit or inquire about classes.
If you are looking for a way to advertise your classes or your art, set up in front of the gallery and paint.
It attracts people. The March 7th
Farmers Market will be hosting the Kings Ridge Car Club. Come on down to see all of the old vehicles owned
by the members. They range from a 1920’s roadster to new mustangs and corvettes. There
is a big variety of vehicles, and the Market will also have music for this event.
.
